  • Work with the qualification of molds, mold revisions and prototype molds on first and subsequent tryouts until mold has been deemed production ready.
  • Establish molding processes on all new molds using Thermotech processing methodology.
  • Document all pertinent information for new molds to ensure successful hand off to manufacturing.
  • May assist I.E. in new projects including set up, packaging, work cell layout, and operator ergonomics.
  • Attend all meetings relating to the New Project Launch. (NPL)
  • Support and assist project management with NPL activities.
  • Write Engineering Change Notices and SRF's for improvements or corrections to molds.
  • Documents all standards for established processes.
  • Seeks out external resources to keep current with processing methods, equipment, technical information and development of a new process.
  • Trains and develops technical skills in shop personnel.
  • Support Thermotech Hopkins Strategy Deployment.
  • Trial out new equipment and technologies on the floor.
  • Support Thermotech NPL and Manufacturing.
  • Apply Thermotech Guiding Principles while carrying out job responsibilities.
  • Apply PPAP and all TS Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.


    • Technical Bachelors' degree or equivalent training/experience.


    • Experience as a Set-up A or Process Technician.


    • Problem solving.
    • Plastic injection molding technology.
    • Metrology and GD&T.
    • Statistical methods.
    • Plastic resins.
    • Various inspection equipment and gauges.
    • Understands and can read complicated blueprints.
    • Basic mold design and function. Some knowledge of tooling.
    • Troubleshooting of molding process and resin capabilities.
    • Proper operation of equipment.
    • Ability to recognize and correct molding problems of an illusive and/or deceptive nature.
    • Basic to advanced P.C. skills.
    • Interpersonal skills.
    • Written and verbal communication skills.
