The Role

Plasman Group has an exciting opportunity in our Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) team. Have you heard of MES? It's a niche area of IT that bridges and integrates technology into manufacturing operations. Our MES team connects the shop floor to the top floor. Cool right?

Due to growth, we are seeking a MES Technician to join our team in this newly created role. This is a great opportunity to start your MES career. We're looking for a dedicated candidate with some experience in both IT and manufacturing who is interested in learning from our MES gurus, supporting our North American operations. Reporting to the MES Manager, the MES Technician will co-ordinate and assist in the activities of the Information Technology department at the Plasman Group. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Stage MES related systems, software, hardware, and network equipment.
  • Provide support of the 100+ MES workstations and 250+ barcode printers and scanners.
  • Troubleshoot, support and maintain MES / IT related systems in a mission critical production environment.
  • Support MES team and plants during new launches and new MES related developments and implementations.
  • Participate in scheduled rotation to provide afternoon shift support and weekend on-call service.
  • Provide proactive and preventative maintenance and support of MES related equipment.
  • On-site and remote support for Plasman Group North American operations.

 

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer Hardware and Networking Certification
  • IT Certifications (ie. CompTIA, MSIP, etc.)
  • 1-3 years of experience in MES and/or IT Systems.
  • Preference given to those with label/barcode printer & scanner experience.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills.
